The Friends of the Lake Bluff Library are neighbors and community members who believe in the power of the Library to enrich lives. Together, they raise funds, advocate, and volunteer to help the Library thrive.
The Friends were organized to:
- Engage in benevolent activities connected with the donation of funds and items of personal property for use by the Lake Bluff Public Library
- Represent the Library at civic events
- Support volunteer recruitment and advocacy of Library initiatives
While the Friends of the Lake Bluff Library is a nonprofit corporation, its mission and goals are focused on providing support for furnishings, equipment, and programming. Funds are raised through events and an annual appeal letter sent by mail. The Friends also aim to build a network of Library supporters and volunteers who care about the Library’s future.
This organization plays an essential role in the health and vitality of the Library by enhancing its services and fostering community engagement.

Log into your bank’s mobile app or online banking account and locate the Zelle® transfer option. Enter the Friends’ email address: admin [at] friendslblibrary [dot] org. In the memo line, please indicate “general donation” and enter the amount of your choice.

Ways to Support
Purchase a Library Tote
Support the Friends by purchasing a reusable Library tote bag ($25). You may also choose to purchase one for yourself and donate one to the Library ($50). Tote bags are available exclusively at the First Floor Service Desk.
Purchase a Brick
Commemorate a loved one with a personalized, engraved brick in the Library’s entrance garden. Brick donation forms are available exclusively at the First Floor Service Desk. ($150)
Sponsor a Bench
Honor someone special with a bench in the Library’s entrance garden. Sponsorships include a personalized plaque. ($1,000 – limited number available)
Stock Donations
You can donate stock to the Friends of the Library! Simply visit our Stock Donator page, create a login, select the Friends of the Lake Bluff Public Library, and set up a transfer. Stock donations may be used for general contributions only.
